THINGS TO DO BEFORE I LEAVE ST. LOUIS:1. Sneak up to the roof of the Adam's Mark Hotel and swim in the pool. Thre are several hotels with the rooftops pools, but the AM has the best view of the Arch, so I gather.
2. Get a lap dance at Diamond Cabaret.
3. Leave coins on Dred Scott's grave. Remember Dred? The slave that the court said was property, not a person? Yep, buried in STL. People leave coins on his grave as a symbol of slavery reparations. I think I only want to do this because I saw Hotel Rwanda last night and suddenly I feel really sorry for black people.
4. Wave in the Newschannel 5 window during the interview segment of Today In St. Louis. (Maybe moon and run?)
5. Take a date to [four star restaurant] Tony's. One that actually deserves it.
6. Karaoke at Blueberry Hill, followed by Chuck Berry.
7. One last Card's game before they tear that motherfucker down.
8. Wine and cheese at Wednesday night jazz at the Botanical Gardens.
9. Drink the $15 750 ml beer at 33. (Rob?)
10. Show [senior overview film] "Somber Carolina" on the/any big screen to a large audience.
If all goes according to plan, I'll be leaving in July. If all goes according to plan, I'll be a raspy-voiced, drunk, prune-fingered, suntanned, notorious-for-showing-his-ass-on-TV man who's about a hundred dollars poorer than before but is triumphantly holding a list with ten check marks on it. The future is wide open.
